My Experience
While traveling through the West Bank, I visited Bethlehem, the traditional birthplace of Jesus and one of Christianity’s holiest sites. Walking through the city gave me a much deeper appreciation for the significance it holds for more than two billion Christians around the world. It was remarkable to think that such a small place has shaped the beliefs and traditions of so many people for nearly two thousand years.
Spending time in the region also helped me better understand how closely the histories of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are connected. Before visiting, I knew these religions shared common roots, but seeing the places where so much of that history unfolded made that history feel far more tangible. I left with a much deeper appreciation for the profound influence this region has had on the world.
