My Experience
My first trip to South America began in Buenos Aires with my Australian friend Alex, whom I’d met while traveling through Jordan. After realizing neither of us had ever been to the continent, we decided to change that together. Buenos Aires welcomed us with days of nonstop rain, but it did little to dampen our excitement. We wandered through the city’s grand European-style neighborhoods, visited the famous Recoleta Cemetery, and quickly discovered why Buenos Aires is often called the “Paris of South America.”
As a lifelong tennis fan, I convinced Alex to sneak into the historic Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club, home to Argentina’s ATP tournament, just so I could see one of the sport’s most iconic venues. It was nice traveling with someone who was willing to break a few rules.
