My Experience
Denmark is one of the countries where I spent the least amount of time. On my way to Sweden, I spent just one night in Copenhagen before catching a train the next morning. Jet-lagged after a flight from Florida and wide awake in the early hours of the morning, I wandered the city’s quiet, empty streets until I reached the Little Mermaid statue, a landmark famous for being surprisingly underwhelming. And honestly, it was. It’s just a small bronze statue sitting quietly beside the water. For me, though, it wasn’t the statue that made the moment memorable. It was what it represented: the start of a trip I had been very excited for.
