My Experience
I enjoyed exploring Barbados. I spent time wandering around Bridgetown, relaxing on the island’s beautiful beaches, and visiting one of its famous rum distilleries to learn about a craft that’s been part of Barbadian culture for centuries. But ultimately, Barbados became memorable for a very different reason.
It was here that I applied for my Venezuela visa after somehow finding the Venezuelan consulate’s WhatsApp number through Facebook. What I expected to be a straightforward process turned into an almost year-long saga. I ended up making two additional trips to Barbados, one to submit my application and another to collect my visa in person. Venezuela would become one of my favorite countries and one of the most personally meaningful stops on my journey. Barbados was the key to getting there, making it an integral part of my journey to every country in the world.
