Grenada

Grenada is one of the Caribbean’s most underrated countries. Known as the “Spice Isle,” it’s famous for producing nutmeg, cinnamon, cocoa, and other spices. After exploring the colorful capital of St. George’s, I wandered through the bustling fish market and watched local fishermen unload and prepare the day’s catch along the waterfront. I also visited one of the island’s spice gardens, where I learned how many of Grenada’s most famous exports are grown and harvested. The rich aroma of fresh nutmeg and cinnamon filled the air, making it easy to understand why spices have shaped the island’s identity for centuries. Grenada may not receive the same attention as some of its Caribbean neighbors, but I found that to be part of its charm.
