My Experience
Back in my junior tennis days, I became friends with Zach from Saint Lucia. He embodied the laid-back Caribbean spirit and was always telling me I had to come visit. One year, I finally took him up on the offer, and his family welcomed me into their home for Christmas, making me feel like part of the family from the moment I arrived.
Over the following days, they went out of their way to show me as much of the island as possible. With its lush green mountains, volcanic coastline, and crystal-clear Caribbean water, Saint Lucia was one of the most beautiful islands I’d ever seen. It’s such a small country that Zach’s uncle had recently served as Prime Minister, and when it was time for me to leave, I simply walked from his house to the airport.
