My Experience
Trinidad and Tobago definitely wasn’t one of my favorite countries. That said, I only visited the island of Trinidad, and I’ve heard wonderful things about Tobago. My budget was also extremely tight, and the area I stayed in left a lot to be desired, which undoubtedly shaped my experience. I still enjoyed exploring parts of the island, visiting Hindu temples, and seeing the strong Indo-Trinidadian influence that’s such an important part of the country’s culture. But overall, it simply wasn’t a destination I connected with in the same way as many others.
That experience reminded me that not every place is going to resonate with you, and that’s okay. The occasional disappointing trip makes the destinations you truly connect with feel even more special.
